Overview

When pitching to prospective clients, our preparation involves preliminary assessment of client needs and producing supporting (PowerPoint based) material.
Sometimes our assessment is wrong and we find ourselves in the meeting unprepared, without relevant case studies that could help us sell relevant services or ability to assess client needs accurately.
We would like to build a mobile application to better support our pre-sales efforts.

Objective

Objective

Objective

The main objectives of this project is to design a mobile app that better supports pre-sale efforts and ease preparation of pitch document for the Consulting team. The app should clearly communicate the services or ability we offer that access client needs precisely with relevant case studies.

Ideate, UI design &Review,

Is an App necessary?

Is an App necessary?

Is an App necessary?

This was one question that needed an answer before I attempt any design process.

There is a consulting page with case studies on the KPMG website and there is a PDF Consulting handbook titled "Shape Your Future" with case studies as well, so why then do we need an app?

Simple answer: an app is nice to have but not a must-have. It is helpful because it will be a companion app that allows users to quickly access online content without the need to visit the website. It will be an exclusive tool for the consulting department to quickly and effectively get case studies needed to support their pre-sale efforts with a tap of a finger or click of a button.

Questionnaires were sent out to marketing professionals who work in consulting organizations to get their view of what a pre-sales application should entail. I took note of the key words and phrases that were mentioned frequently. These key words and phrases will be used to define the app's features and functionality, as well as the steps that users will take to use the app.

I began the project by breaking down the problem statement into three key areas of focus: Assessment, Case studies, and Relevant Services or Ability. This helped me to define the problem more accurately.

Shape Your Future

Shape Your Future

UI Design: For most web contents I always start with the mobile screen. This is based on statistics that usage of mobile devices (56%) for visiting webpages tops that of desktop (42%) or tablets(2%) devices.

Based on the result of my questionnaires, I categorised KPMG Consulting services (12 in total) into the three Consulting Enterprises (Connected, Powered and Trusted) that Shape Your Future (using KPMG Shape Your Future source material as a reference) of every business. The idea for the application is design with modern and clean aesthetic, with easy-to-use navigation and high-quality product images. KPMG brand colours and fonts were used to maintain a brand identity. KPMG Global & UK websites were used to help define the application.

A search function, export option, and filtering system were added to help users easily find the services, case studies, and any other information about the services or case studies.

Hypothesis

Hypothesis

I believe that if the assessment questions are answered correctly based on client needs
So if I have inputted the right search engine algorithm it will filter necessary case studies to meet clients’ need
Then we will have all relevant case studies to sell our services or ability.

This was a case study interview question for a Product Designer position at KMPG UK. I was excited at the opportunity to attempt the project so much I decided to put it on my portfolio. All images used are KPMG UK and Nigeria, sourced from their respective websites.

The mobile application can be implemented on either iOS or Android operating systems, and can also be developed as a web app for those who prefer not to install the app due to storage constraints or personal reasons. KPMG respects user privacy.

This mobile application was designed to meet and exceed the objectives set, and I believe it will. Design is an iterative process, and there will be continual improvements based on user feedback and feature requests.
